When you get a flat tire, you want to get it fixed as soon as possible. At State Park Motors Inc, we have a few tips to help you get a spare on when you’re on the side of the road. Be sure to have a few basic supplies in your trunk, too, including a jack and a flashlight.

One of the most important things is to avoid pushing your car off of the jack as it can affect the suspension. Be sure to use your lugwrench to loosen the nuts before you use the car jack. Then, when you pull off the lug nuts and wheel, be sure to work quickly.

When you remove the tire and replace it with the spare, use two hands. Hand tighten the lug nuts when it’s still on the jack. Then, take the vehicle off of the jack and tighten the rest of the way using the lugwrench.
