You may not realize you're putting yourself in danger if you are driving year-round with summer wiper blades on your vehicle. At our service department, we recommend that our customers switch over to winter wiper blades when they come in to have us switch over to their set of winter tires.

Because summer wiper blades are designed with lattice arms with moving parts, a lightweight frame and a thinner layer of natural rubber that makes contact with the windshield, they are not designed to handle very low temperatures and the extremes caused by ice, blizzards and snow. Winter wiper blades are designed with a frame featuring only one moving part to reduce clogging from ice. They also feature a synthetic rubber blade that will not tear when temperatures plunge near zero and won't crack from becoming hard and cold. Winter wiper blades are designed to ensure clear windshield visibility throughout winter's harsh weather.
