The folks at State Park Motors want to make sure that you stay safe while driving this winter. Part of staying safe when the weather turns cold and snowy is to have an emergency kit in your vehicle. It should include a warm blanket, a cell phone and a gallon of water.

It should also have enough food to last you and your passengers a few days. Ideally, you will have a tire pressure gauge, inflation device and sealant. This may make it possible to make emergency repairs that last long enough to get to safety. A flashlight can also be helpful when attempting to make repairs in a dark environment.

Duct tape and a multipurpose tool can also come in handy in an emergency situation. Jumper cables could also be the difference in getting to safety or remaining stranded for a long period of time.
